* Darien's POV*
I looked up from his coffee I had been drink and glanced out the corner of
my eye to the girl who had captured my heart so freely. She was a vision, any guy could see
that. Her beautiful Crystal Blue eyes shining when she smiled, her long Golden Blonde hair
floating and bouncing along when she was happy. Even those "Meatballs" she wore were cute on her.
How could you not love her?
* Serena's POV*
I glanced out the corner of my eyes and saw him, yeah he was a conceited
jerk but I had fallen hard for than conceited jerk. How could I not have. His Ebony hair was
definitely worth running my fingers through. His eyes were like liquid Midnight ..Oh god, what I
would give to drown in them. Even his name for her, "Meatball head" sounded good to her from his
lips. How could she not love him?

* Darien's POV*
As I slip into slumber I know she is there, calling for me waiting for my
return. I hear her voice, like a bell and her tears I see fall from her face, waiting, waiting
for me to claim her lips for myself. Holding her close to me molding her my body to mine. I
crave her sweet taste. Turning her head towards me I see, Eyes so blue they seem endless and her
face..
"AHHHHH!" I scream as the night air hits my sweat soaked body. Dropping back
onto my pillows, even now, I feel her, my arms again hungering for the embrace only she can
satisfy.
* Serena's POV*
Sleep used to be welcomed to me, but now I'm slightly afraid. Every night as
I dream he comes. Slowly lowering my eyes I see him, Tall dark and Handsome, he approaches me
softly and takes me in his arms and I slip my arms around him. My lips finding his in an
earth shattering kiss. As I look up slightly I see Midnight blue eyes looking into mine, such love
I see and as his fingers brush my chin to look at me and I at him.
Only to be startled awake by a breath of wind as it stirs past my open window.

* Darien's POV*
Getting up the next morning is torture, but knowing I will see my Meatball
Head makes it so much better. I eat my bagel (I don't know if Darien has a bagel for breakfast so
don't sue me..it's my fic and I happen to like bagels!) and get dressed and glance at my
watch.8:15 right on time. Strolling to the corner I lean back and get ready for Hurricane Serena, My
Meatball head. (8:35) here she comes..And BAM!
Down we both go, my arms locking around her so she won't get hurt and bracing for the impact of
the concrete.
* Serena's POV*
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I'm so going to be late!" I scream as I rush around the
room looking for everything. I look at my clock, which reads 8:25. "Oh, no I'm going to get
detention again, drats!"
As I reach for my bag, I suddenly smile thinking about how I might get to
run into Darien before school. Without that I would never have a good day. As I dash
for school I think about how if I didn't fight with him, I could only look and I couldn't do
that happily. Not paying attention as I plow around the corner I feel myself crash into
someone. Bracing myself for the fall I feel arms wind around me trying to protect me.

* Darien's POV*
I look down at the angel in my arms and I smile at the face she is making.
That "Oh my god, thank you who ever saved me from being hurt!" As I see her start to open her
eyes my face takes on the annoyed look I use so she won't know how much I care. Then I hear,
"Oh, I'm soo sorry, how I'm such a Klutz!"
When our eyes meet I am drawn back towards my dream
were I see those Blue eyes clash with mine till Grinning and trying to hide it I say, "Geez,
Meatball head, will there be a day you don't run me over?" It's then I notice the blush that
stains her cheeks grow darker and I wonder just how she feels and think of my dream girl and the
way she felt in my arms and how she's so much like my Angel.
*Serena's POV*
As we crash into the cement and I feel my savior's arms around me I am
suddenly reverted back into my dream, where my prince holds me close and I am in heaven. I know my
face is probably red from me blushing, and my heart is pounding thinking of those arms
holding me for eternity and his lips claiming mine thoroughly. Then I realize I am going to be late
for school and this isn't a dream. "Oh, I'm soo sorry , how I'm such a Klutz!" I stammer trying
to regain my pride.
Glancing up Blue meets Blue and I'm lost in a maze, drowning once again when
suddenly I hear his voice say, "Geez, Meatball head, will there be a day you don't run me over?"
I blush harder and push myself off of him and run towards school, know I'm going to be late.
"Darn it! Detention, yuck!"

* Darien's POV*
As soon as class is over I rush towards the Arcade knowing soon, my angel is
going to appear and I have to be there to greet her. Andrew, my prying best friend, calls out as
I rush into the corner booth, which is the best booth to see everything and everybody, and
plop down waiting. When Andrew comes over he has an Ice Mocha cappuccino, my favorite, in his
hand and a smile. When he sits down, his grin gets bigger, I barely notice as my eyes are glued to the
sliding glass doors I know she'll soon be walking through.
"She won't be here today, she has dance." Andrew says smiling innocently.
"WHAT!!!!" I reply totally shocked. Then trying to look totally uncaring I
calmly say, "Who?"
"Don't give me that Darien, you know who…Serena? Or should I say Meatball
head?" Andrew says sly winking.
"I don't know what you're talking about?"
"Don't give me that crap Darien I know you like her, admit it."
"Like who? Meatball head?"
"Serena, Meatball head, whatever you wanna call her."
"I don't." I state simply hoping he'll drop the subject but, as usual he
doesn't.
"Come on Darien, this whole Arcade knows it, I mean haven't you looked by
where you normally sit?" Glancing up I look at where I normally sit and gasp, there's a mirror
facing right here where Serena sits all the time. Lowering my head in defeat I sigh and look
at Andrew.
"Is it obvious?"
"I knew I was right!" he shouted, " Yeah Dare, it is. Why don't you tell her?"
"What are you crazy? She would probably laugh in my face if I told her I loved her. Please don't
say anything please!" I turned my eyes down ad looked at my hands.
"L-l-l-love her?" Andrew stuttered, "sure Dare, no problem."
"Yeah, Andy, I love her. I have since I first saw her."
"Come on Dare than, you know she would never laugh..how do you know she
doesn't feel the same?"
"I can tell, besides she has to have a boyfriend..she's so beautiful how
could she not?"
"Dare, what if I told you she does care? What would you do?"
Gulping I look up at him with hope in my eyes, " What are you talking about
Andy? Tell me please." I beg.
"Dare, what you don't know is Serena talks of nothing but you when you're
not here. Darien this, Darien that.. Darien, Darien, Darien,! Actually a guy could get sick of
hearing your name, it gets kind of annoying."
"Really? Oh, Andy! You don't know what this means! This means I can tell
her! I can finally ask her out! After all this time Thank you!" I jump up and grab his hand and
grin like a fool till I hear my angel say, "No…oh umm.. excuse me, I umm. I have to go, Now! Bye
Mina!" As I stare after her I notice she is crying as she whispers in Mina's ear and then
takes off for the park. "Mina! What's the matter? What's the matter? Why was Serena crying? Who hurt
her?" I yell at her. Then I feel a stinging sensation in my cheek and notice Mina just slapped
me.
"How could you Darien! I thought you cared for Serena!"
"What are you talking about? Of course I care..I was about to ask her out!"
"Oh, Oh no, I'm sorry Darien, oh…" Mina cried.
"It's ok, but, why was Serena crying?" I ask worriedly.
"Oh, that's easy, she was going to join you when you started talking about
asking some girl out, you see Sere had just gotten up the courage to ask you to join her for a
shake. But, when she heard you she was heartbroken, because she though you were talking about
another girl." Mina said as she looked at me sadness showing in her eyes.
"Oh, my poor Meatball head! I've got to catch her!" I rush out the Arcade
with Mina and Andrew staring at me with a goofy grin on both their faces.

* Seren'a POV*
As soon as the bell rang I was bounding down the steps trying to get to the
Sailor V game, where I could watch Darien. Looking up at the sky I notice how much the guy in my
dreams feels like Darien. Safe, and warm. Suddenly I feel a tap on my shoulder. Glancing over
I notice Mina walking beside me. "Hi Mina, what's up? Joining me at the Arcade?"
"I don't know if I'm going to go actually, on second thought…yeah I will."
" That's good, we can gossip." I state going back to my dream and then
reliving this morning and the feeling I got of being in Darien's arms.
"You know he's not going to be there don't you?" Mina asked reproachfully.
"What? He's not! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" then I realize what I had just done and
composed my self and say, " Who's not going to be there?"
Laughing Mina stops next to a tree and keeps herself standing up. "Oh Serena!
"You're too much some times! Did anyone ever tell you that?"
"Mina! What are you talking about?" I say trying to look hurt.
"Serena you know who I'm talking about. A certain tall, dark, and handsome
someone named Darien."
"H-h-h-h-huh?" I stammer, " Who cares about Darien?"
"You do." Came the reply.
"I think you've been reading those comics to long Mina. Me like Darien that's
absurd!" I say trying not to blush.
"Give it up Sere! The whole Arcade knows it, I mean there's a mirror right
across from Darien!
Do you think he has noticed? We, your best friends have noticed? I haven't
noticed? give me some slack Sere!" she says haughtily.
"Is it noticeable?" I say quietly, "Please don't tell him!" I beg look
shocked and scared.
"Yes Sere. But, one question." She asked.
"What?"
"Why won't you tell him?"
"Well," I say twisting the edge of my skirt, "I mean there's no way I could
tell him. He's so, so. Beautiful! He's handsome, suave, and he probably has this beautiful
intelligent girlfriend what would he see in klutzy, stupid me?" I ask tears coming to my eyes.
"Oh Sere! Really think about what you're saying! This is Darien. I mean can't you tell he likes
you? Haven't you seen the looks?"
"No." I say not convinced.
"What about Meatball head? I mean he even has a pet name for you!" Mina says
trying not to laugh.
"Oh, gee, don't I feel lucky." I say a bit sarcastically.
"Serena!"
"It's true, I mean why would Darien like me? There are so many pretty girls
out there. Ray for instance and you. I'm nothing!" I say starting to cry.
"Serena, can I tell you a secret?" Mina whispers in my ear soothing and
calming my tears away.
"Sure." Came a watery reply.
"Darien talks about nothing but you. When you're not there it's Serena this
Serena that. How can we compete with that?" Mina asks wiping my tears away.
"Really? Mina you think it's true?" I say happy once more and hopeful maybe
it's true.
"Would I lie?"
"Of course not! You know what I'm going to do?" I ask.
"What Sere?"
"I'm going to ask him to join me for a shake! I mean maybe we can talk and
maybe.." I sigh hopefully and enter the Arcade to see Darien jumping up and down like a fool
talking to Andrew.
As we get closer I hear him say, "This means I can tell her! I can finally
ask her out! After all this time Thank you!"
I try not to care, looking at the guy I love, but when he looks at me I
can't do it. Hurriedly I turn towards Mina and say "No…oh umm.. excuse me, I umm. I have to go,
Now! Bye Mina!" As I rush past her I whisper in her ear, " I guess you were wrong, what am I
going to do?" I rush off for the park hearing my heart shatter as I quicken my pace to my
thinking spot in the park.

* Darien's POV*
As I start to look through the park, I begin to get worried. Where is she???
I'm tempted to call out, but afraid to startle her. Than I remember this one spot I loved.
I was down by the Rose Garden and this one tree, a weeping willow had the perfect view of the
pond and the setting sun. Jogging over I notice a small meatball headed figure sobbing against
the tree. But what hurt me was it wasn't the loud, breaking glass wails she normally cried it
was the heart breaking quiet sobs of total despair. As I reached out to her my heart
wrenched and I felt tears come to my eyes as I watched her cry because of me. Coming closer my
arms ached to hold her, to be with her again. Touching her shoulder I say, "Serena?"
* Serena's POV*
What was I going to do? I knew Darien was the one for me and yet there was
nothing I could do because he liked another girl. I rushed to my favorite spot in the park. I
was so close to the roses I loved and yet it had a perfect view of the lake and the setting sun.
As I reached the tree, I sunk to the ground, crying my heart out quietly so not to attract to
much attention to myself. What was so wrong with me that he couldn't love me? How I wished I
could feel him near me again, to call me Serena or even Meatball head, I would give anything!
Suddenly I felt a hand touch my shoulder and a voice, his voice say, "Serena?"
* Darien's POV*
When I touched her shoulder I felt an electric sock run through my body,
something I never wanted to forget. When she spun around I saw so many emotions flash through
her eyes. Heartbreak, sadness, fear, denial, Love. Wait a minute, Love? Our eyes met
and held, blue clashing with blue, all her feeling pouring out into mine, with such sorrow,
grief crept into my soul. My heart though was pounding from such close contact. My hand
gripping her shoulder lightly caused me to melt when I saw I was the cause of such profound
sorrow. Slowly I sat down and released her shoulder thoroughly ashamed of myself for hurting this
beautiful angel I did not deserve.
* Serena's POV*
As his hand touched my shoulder I was shocked to feel the static between us.
Swiftly turning around to meet his Midnight eyes I knew all my feeling were flying across my
eyes but, what surprised we was that so were his. I saw in his eyes joy, sadness,
happiness, love. Love could that be for me? I wondered and as we stared into each other eyes I saw his
wince and his eyes clouded with true sorrow. And I saw what looked like tears in his eyes as he
slid down against the trunk of the tree, totally depressed. Sniffling a bit, I turn towards
the sky and watch as the sun sets in the water, noticing how all the colors mix and how Darien's
eyes were like that. Beautiful and full of many different things and I realized I wanted to see
them and know what they were.

* Darien's POV*
Slowly I sag again the tree as she turns to watch the sun set. Settling back
I look towards the sky also and note how not even the sky can match her eyes. Suddenly she says
quietly, " Do you want to talk about it?"
"yeah, that would be nice"
"OK, what's the matter Darien?" she asks and I love the way she says my name
I realize, it rolls off her tongue.
"Well," I say tucking my hands behind my head and leaning back so I could
look at her comfortably, "I kinda have this problem."
"Would you like to talk about it?" She says glancing at him and trying to
hide it.
Grinning I continue and say, "Well, it's hard for me to express my feeling
and it's come to my attention that I really like this one certain girl and I don't know how to
tell her. She's everything I want. Beautful, caring, loving, sunny, wonderful."
Serena, my angle looked so sad right then I almost told her the truth about
who the girl was.
"Well, you could just tell her." She said trying to blink back tears and I
decided right then, I had to do something.
* Serena's POV*
When he said He liked a girl, my heart broke and I couldn't take anymore
but, I did say I would help so I said, " Well, you could just tell her." Thinking I would tell him
the most direct way as I blink back tears. Suddenly I notice a deep red rose under my nose.
Inhaling the scent I turn and Notice Darien isn't by the tree anymore and I turn back towards the
lake to cry, but realize the rose is still there and follow the arm connected to it and
realize I am looking into Darien's face. His eyes caring and gentle and his smile loving. Slowly the
petals brush down my cheek and I look up frighten thinking he was playing with me. Instead of
crying though I stand up and look at him dumbfounded no breathing but, hope dawned in my heart.
* Darien's POV*
When I brushed the rose down her cheek Serena jumped up and looked at me
with fright then her eyes changed and I saw hope and love replace the frighten look. Standing up
I walked closer to her taking a step at a time. When I was close enough to touch her I bent
down and whispered into her ear, and said, " Serena, you're the most caring, kindest, wonderful,
beautiful person I know and I hope you could join me for dinner one day and get to know me
better and let me prove that I'm not some jerk." Slowly I gathered up my courage and gripped her
chin beneath my fingers and brushed my lips to hers.
* Serena's POV*
When his lips touched mine I melted. I was so amazed at what he had just
told me, his velvet voice whispering into my ear and sending cold chills and shivered down my
spine. When he touched my chin I was on fire and my heart was pounding. As he moved to go away my
arms jumped of their own will (I swear!) around his neck and I moved to deepen the kiss, melting
into his embrace. His arm wrapped around me then and I was in heaven. His lips were sending
current down to my toes and my heart was beating so fast. If his arms hadn't been there I knew I
would have been down on the ground shocked. Instead I was backed against the tree and Darien's
mouth ravished mine with all the passion I felt and had seen in his eyes. I returned the favor
deepening the kiss more and when we finally broke apart with the need to breath, I looked into his
eyes and then whispered into his ear, " I love you Darien, I'll do whatever you want and
besides, your not that bad."
When he looked into my eyes I fell in love with him all over again and as he
moved to kiss me again I heard the words, I had longed to hear whisper onto my lips.
"I love you to Meatball Head."
